Palm Mar peace and progress side by side

Meet the neighbours, on one side, Guaza Mountain, a towering elongated ridge chiselled with glorious patterns by nature, on the other side, Malpais de Rasca, a protected nature reserve and a rugged, rural, ramblers delight. That’s Palm Mar, sitting cosily between the two, bright, modern and luxurious, and listen to that peace and tranquillity.

Planned in the 1980’s, developed in the 90’s and now being perfected in the new millennium, Palm Mar is intended as somewhere to live out your dream, without the high octane nightlife and high rise hotels complete with their fleets of coaches arriving at all hours.
The archway that welcomes you to Palm Mar is right next to the starting point for one of many nature trails for walkers through the scattering of volcanic rocks heading out to the distinctive red and white candy striped lighthouse at Rasca.

Moving down the main road, you will pass the new branch of Banco Santander, it’s colour scheme now familiar to UK users of the Abbey Building Society, that it bought 2 years ago. A little further, down the tree lined avenue, and Edificio Flamingo offers a small selection of bar/restaurants, while opposite the new commercial centre is nearing completion for those who want to socialise with their new neighbours.
Looking down reassuringly is Guaza Mountain, 428 metres high, and partly responsible for the natural protection from the wind, that this valley enjoys. The more energetic can look forward to treading the well used paths up and over the scenic way into nearby Los Cristianos.

Few can resist the lure of the sea view and down at Playa Arenita, a new promenade runs alongside the beach, with lots of seating areas to enjoy the views. Looking across to Los Cristianos, it’s a constant reminder of the easy access to the louder and brasher main resorts if you want to party or indulge in a shopping frenzy.

The beach, for now, is rugged and unspoilt but will be boosted by imported sand and saltwater pools. A new discreet and stylish port will be added to offer mooring facilities and a taxi boat service over to Los Cristianos.

Keen fishermen are already taking advantage of natural platforms to reel in some of natures harvest and some of the jutting outcrops will keep snorkel and scuba fans busy for hours. With all this sun and good clean air, it may well be the perfect chance to put in some golf practice on one of the nearby courses just down the coast.

Palm Mar prides itself on the quality and standards of the complexes that make up this exciting new addition to the south of Tenerife. To get away from it all like this is a dream, but it is matched by the reality of the location, just 10 minutes from Los Cristianos and 15 minutes from the airport.
