Part of the appeal of Palm Mar is it’s secluded position, nestling between Guaza mountain and the nature reserve of Malpais de Rasca, but to date road access has been a bit limited. The Guaza roundabout and the exit from the TF1 motorway is a notorious bottleneck especially at peak times. Now a new access road directly to Palm Mar from the roundabout will make things much easier and give two routes in and out. The council has bought 20,000 square metres of land for the project, and work has already begun and they are even going to sprinkle in some green areas to make the entrance more attractive.
The homes of Palm Mar are built into a gently sloping hillside with the open sea ahead as a focal point. Already the beach of La Arenita has a bright modern promenade complete with alcoves and benches to sit and admire the view. The beach has a coating of sand but is largely rugged and rocky, all that is to change though. Arona town hall has been given permission by the coastal authority to start work on upgrading the beach.
This will be done carefully so as not to lose it’s natural charms that attract fishermen to cast off from the rocky outcrops, and to make the beach compliment the diverse natural patterns of the imposing Guaza Mountain. A special area will be created with young families in mind, where children can run and play and bathe in the sea. Palm Mar is a natural sun trap and the beach is destined to become its jewel.
All these improvements will add to the luxurious feel of Palm Mar, the properties play there part too with a modern design finished off with top quality materials. A prime example of this is Los Menceyes , now at an exciting stage of the fourth phase as it reaches completion.
A sports centre and leisure club are also in the pipeline for Palm Mar and of course there are several first class golf courses very close by.
